Jones. The publication is a cooperative effort by Evening Post Books and the Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina.

About the Illustrator
Artist John W. Jones, born in Columbia, SC, has been a freelance artist and illustrator for more than 25 years. He grew up in the State Park community near Columbia. He has received several awards, including merit awards during the 1998 and 1999 Piccolo Spoleto Festival Art Show. His work is in several collections, including the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, Benedict College in Columbia, the College of Charleston and the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site in Atlanta. Jones is the artist and author of the book and traveling exhibition, “Confederate Currency: The Color of Money, Images of Slavery in Confederate and Southern States Currency.” His paintings are available at Gallery Chuma in Charleston.
